Ingredients:
Loaf of white bread (Wonder is best)
Canned asparagus
Mayonnaise
Salt and pepper
Directions:
Carefully remove the crusts from the bread slices. Slather on mayonnaise liberally. It will help keep the asparagus spears in place. Drain the canned asparagus and pat dry on a paper towel. Lay one large or two small spears on the bread slices and roll the edges together. Season to taste. Cut into two or three bite-sized pieces. Fasten each with gay party toothpick, especially if the bread won’t stay in a tidy roll.
Serves ten.
