The pretty blonde receptionist would be a good fit for Hank, if they’re not already…

“Is that your girlfriend?” I ask him
, realizing how nosy I am being, but liking this new Harper too much to really care.

“What?” he looks down at me with a shocked expression on his face. “No,” he answers, shaking his head.

“She wants to be,” I inform him.

He grunts out a non-coherent response making me laugh.

“Whatever,” I wave my hand at him, “It’s none of my business. I’m just saying that if the reason you’re not with her is because you think she’s not interested then you are so
very
wrong.”

He looks at me as we walk, taking a few turns through the crowded work space of offices and cubicles, his face studying me.

“Trust me. I know. Women know these things,” I assure him. “Take a chance if that’s what is holding you back.” I shrug and continue, “If it’s more complicated than that either simplify it, or… just ignore me.”

He rolls his eyes at me and shakes his head making me laugh. We reach the end of a long empty hallway where there is a set of very large frosted glass doors. Hank opens the door for me and we step into a small reception area. The receptionist is an older woman, maybe early fifties, who is smartly dressed in a white pencil skirt and blue blouse.

Hank walks up to the desk and says, “Hey, Denise. Is he in with anyone?”

“No,” she looks at me curiously then back to Hank, “Who is this?”

“Harper,” Hank answers.

I smile and say, “Hello, Denise. It’s nice to meet you.”

“Damn!” She exclaims making me jump and look around. “That boy picked good!”

Wh… what?” I ask a little confused and worried about this woman’s sanity.

“A fucking knockout and sweet to boot!”
she laughs making me raise my brow. “Oh, pardon my language,” she apologizes.

“Doesn’t bother me,” I answer shrugging and shaking my head.

“Thanks, dear. It’s just I know my boy has been head over heels for a while now and I was so damn worried it was some hoity-toity society bitch. And then I’d have to smack him around and get him back in line. You know how it is.”

“Yeah
,” I smile. “I know.”

“So what are you doing here,
darlin’?” she asks me.

I take the bags from Hank and hold them up for her to see. “Thought I’d bring lunch for Brecc. Is it okay for me to go in?”

“Absolutely darlin’,” she laughs.

“I’ll be out here when you’re done, Harper,” Hank tells me.

“Thanks, Hank. But maybe you should take someone out to lunch.” I wink at him and look at Denise as she begins to laugh. Clearly she knows about the pretty receptionist; office gossip and all that, I’m sure. “I won’t leave without you,” I tell him. “Promise.”

“Just go,” he tells me.

“Here,” I take some food out of one of the bags and hand it to Denise. “I had gotten this for Hank, but I think he’ll find his own, so you can have it.”

Oooo, girl! You are after my heart, aren’t you?” She digs into the containers of food. “I love Reid’s Steakhouse! But they’re not open for lunch, how’d you get the food?” she asks cutting into the steak.

“I know the owner,” I tell her and turn for the double wooden doors that will take me to my Adonis, “Enjoy!” I call over my shoulder.

I open the door and walk in. My body immediately kicks into gear seeing Breccan behind his large mahogany desk; his hair pulled back at the nape of his neck and his jacket hanging across the back of the chair. The Paradise skyline behind him with floor to ceiling windows. There is a seating area to the right with a black leather couch and chairs. To the left is a table with six chairs.

My eyes travel back to Breccan who is speaking into his phone. He looks up as the door clicks shut behind me and freezes in place. His eyes cloud over with desire and I can see his jaw clench from across the room. I smile at him and hold up the bags of food and make my way over to the table; feeling his eyes follow me as I go.

“Look, Dave, I don’t have time for this shit right now,” he says into the phone. I look at him and raise my eyebrows at him. He smiles at me and continues to talk to ‘Dave’. “Yeah, something important just came up.”

A laugh bursts out of me and I quickly cover my mouth and look away from him, pulling food out and placing it on the table along with the plates Demetri, the owner of Reid’s, loaned to me.

“Yeah, we’ll deal with it later today,” I hear Breccan say, my shoulder’s still shaking with silent laughter. “Bye.”

I turn as I hear the phone receiver click into place. “I brought lunch,” I smile at him.

He stands and walks over to me, “What a wonderful surprise,” he says once he reaches me.

He pulls me close to his body so that I feel his erection press into my stomach. He lowers his mouth to mine, his tongue slowly tracing my lips. I open my mouth and his tongue curls inside. My hands travel up and around his neck. I hang on as he deepens the kiss, wanting desperately to wind my legs around him and take him on the office floor, but a small piece of my brain remembers that I brought lunch.

I pull away slightly and murmur against his mouth, “Lunch first.”

He groans and presses me tighter against his erection. My clit begins to throb painfully, my nipples harden and I forget all about lunch. I smash my mouth back to his, kissing him feverishly.

His own need spurs him into action, reaching down and undoing my slacks so that they fall to the floor. My hands travel to his shirt and pull it apart flinging buttons everywhere. My nails scrape along his chest and flick at his nipple.

I undo his tie as he continues to ravish my mouth and pull his shirt off of his shoulders. I jump up and wrap my legs around his waist, his hands supporting me. He walks us over to the couch, sits down with me on top of him and I fling my shirt off, throwing it somewhere in the office.

He unhooks my bra and it slides off my arms, giving him access to my pert nipples. He leans me back and descends his mouth onto one of them.

“Oh, God,” I moan out, clutching his shoulders.

He works my breasts with his mouth and slides a hand into my panties, finding my clit and rubbing it, building me higher.

“Brecc…” I pant out.

“Tell me, dove. Tell me what you want,” he says around my breast.

“I want you inside me…” I moan; needing his cock.

In a flash he has his gloriously, thick cock out and is reaching for my underwear. I move to get up, but before I can he rips them apart making me gasp in shock. He’s done it before, but the savagery of it is always stunning by how much it turns me on.

I raise up on my knees and reach down, grasping his throbbing erection and guide it slowly into me. His hands grab onto my hips and clutch tightly as he tries to exercise control. We both let out moans as I sit down fully onto him. I look up into his eyes to see his filled with fire and want.

I reach up and pull the tie from his hair letting it fall loose around his face and shoulders. I dig my fingers into it, loving the silky texture of it.

“I love you,” I say and move up his length slamming myself back down.

Fuck
…” he groans.

I slide up him again and bring myself back down, repeating the motion over and over again while swirling my hips; building us each higher. Breccan continues to kiss everywhere he can reach on my body, licking and nipping at my skin. My whole body is a live wire making my veins sing with the rush of tingling raging through them.

It builds higher and higher focusing on my core with each stroke. I feel it start at the base of my spine spreading everywhere as my clit and core rejoice by quivering. My nails dig into his scalp as I slide harder and faster up and down his cock. The only noises in the room are his grunts and my moans.

“Brecc…” I gasp out when my orgasm takes me.

I work to hold my cry in, somewhat conscious of the fact that we are not in the privacy of our own home. Breccan takes over and moves me even faster up and down his length until he explodes; his large hands wrapping up and around my shoulders holding me down tight onto him. His face burrows in my chest and he lets out a muffled curse.

Some time passes before we are able to get our bearings and get dressed; me sans underwear.

“You owe me a new pair,” I tell him holding up the shredded garment, “This set was three hundred dollars and one of my favorites,” I pout, but it’s the truth. I loved this bra and panty set. It was black lace with teal trim and small teal bows in the middle of the bra and on the hips. “I’m surprised you didn’t tear the bra off as well.”

“I wanted to,” he smiles his undeniably sexy half smirk. “But, yes, I will buy you a new set. And rip it off as well.
Besides you ruined my shirt,” he gives me a fake pout, clearly not upset about it.

“How will you ever survive?” I ask with mock horror. He walks over to a door in the corner of the room and pulls out another shirt, slipping it on. “Clever, boy,” I raise my brows at him.

“I stocked up when I met you,” he tells me, “I had a feeling you were the shirt ripping type.”

“Whatever,” I laugh, rolling
my eyes and placing my underwear in my purse. “Well, let’s eat our cold lunch,” I fake pout, because honestly, that was worth a cold lunch. “Demetri worked hard cooking this for us, you know?” I inform him.

“You know the owner of Reid’s?” he ask
s me with a slightly surprised look on his face.

“Of course, how else would I get it for lunch?”

Breccan pulls out a chair for me, I sit and he sits next to me. We begin to eat and I must admit, even lukewarm this food is fucking amazing.

“How do you know him?” he asks after a few minutes.

“I own a bar,” I shrug, “Correction,
owned
. I know everyone in the food service and customer service business.”

I look at Breccan and see him nod his head and go back to eating. I smile as I realize the crux of his interrogation.

“No,” I tell him.

“What?” he asks, looking up from his
meal.

“I never dated him.” He tries to hide the relief from his face, but he doesn’t succeed well.

“Not my business,” he shakes his head and cuts off another piece of his steak.

“Well, it is,” I tell him.

“How do you figure?”

“I’m yours now,” I shrug like that wasn’t a massive thing to admit to anyone, “And you don’t deserve to be surprised with information from third parties about my past.” He raises his eyebrows in surprise. “I’ve committed to this Breccan. To us.” He smiles at me and takes my hand, bringing it to his mouth. “And just so you know… I hadn’t been with anyone in five years, before you. And I’ve never slept with anyone from Paradise.”

“Dove… you don’t have to tell me this.” His eyes are kind and truthful. He really doesn’t need me to tell him this stuff.

“Well, isn’t this the kind of thing we would have talked about if this relationship hadn’t been so fucked up by my past?” I counter him.

“Yeah… I suppose we would have,” he concedes.

“I just want you to know, there is a reason I pushed you away other than my past.” I take a drink of my water that Demetri was kind enough to provide us. “Being alone… it worked. I didn’t want the entanglements that come with having someone watching my every move and wondering where I always was.”

“I can understand that,” he nods his head.

“Okay,” I smile, “How’s your steak?”

“Demetri is a fucking genius,” he says with a mouthful of food.

I laugh, “Yes he is.”

Breccan leans towards me and we kiss lightly before resuming our meal. He tells me about some of the deals he has going around the U.S. and across seas and in the next couple months he is going to have to travel.

“I want you with me, dove,” he tells me.

“What do you mean?” I ask.

“I want you to travel with me. Whether you open another bar, or not. Nikko would be able to take care of it while we were away. We could take Bane with us. I just don’t think I can be away days at a time without you. And I have to be or my business will start to go downhill.”

I study him for a minute and truly understand what he is asking me. As ridiculous as it seems, we can’t be apart from each other. Not yet. Maybe years down the road… but not yet.

“Okay,” I agree, “I’ll go with you.”

“Good.”

“And I’ll also go with you on Thursday,” I tell him. I had made the decision on the way over and wanted him to know.

“Really?” he asks with a smile on his face.

“Really,” I nod.

He scoots his chair out and mine closer to him, then pulls me out of the chair and into his lap, wrapping his arms around me.

“Thank you, dove,” he says and brings my mouth down to his.
