Chocolate syrup.

Never would I have expected that I would be sleeping with Kinley Wright. Or for her to be so much fun. It’ll be interesting to see where things go. My keys nearly fall from my grasp at the thought. See where things go? What have I done to myself to be thinking such a thought? I shake my head, oddly remembering the things that Mr. Wright said. My plan is to test these new waters, so to speak, and not run from the challenge before it really is too late.

Chapter Twenty-Seven

Kinley

I look around the kitchen, hoping that I haven’t forgotten anything. I ran through my mental list and it’s all there. I have everything on the stove and in the oven. I check my watch and realize that I’m not late. Carson is in a video meeting with another endorsement, so I have a little time to kill. I flip open my laptop and run through some emails that I have. The campaign is going to be amazing, and my boss is loving it.

The art designers had sent me some of the shots that had been fixed up. I couldn’t believe how amazing these shots were. Cassie knew exactly when to catch the light just right, and Carson looks like he was made to be a model for LSMP.

Now that’s a good looking guy.” Carson wraps his arms around my shoulders, kissing my cheek.

Yeah, he’s okay.” I joke, hopping down from the stool, going back over to the stove.

I have a feeling this is going to be a big hit.” He still is on the laptop looking at the rest of them.

My boss thinks the same thing.”

Before long, you’ll be taking on all the football stars.” Carson chuckles at me.

I continue to stir the corn, not saying anything. When my boss called me into the office today, he gave me two options. One, I could take on a smaller account in the football division, or two, stay with the hockey players. LSMP plans on contracting more players in the next few months but leave Carson as the ‘face’ of the campaign. I have until tomorrow at noon to make my decision.

The problem is, I don’t know what I want to do. Yes, it’s my dream to be in the mix of football players, but I wouldn’t be able to spend much time with Carson. Plus, it’s not like Carson and I are a serious couple. I mean I don’t think we’re
anything
really. We’ve not even been on an official date. I know this didn’t count as one, since I lost a bet.

Carson tells me all about his meeting, and he’s excited about this project coming up. He’s even more thrilled about camp starting up in a few weeks. I keep listening as I check on all the food. I grab my glass of sweet tea and lean against the counter.

You know,” Carson comes over to me, “you look pretty fuckable standing there.”

I throw my head back, laughing. “Never heard that before.”

That’s because you’ve been with all the wrong guys, sweetheart.”

He grabs my glass and sets it down, and then picks me up, sitting me on the counter.

Do you trust me?”

What?”

Humor me, okay.” His voice is tough.

Fine.” I give in to his game. “I trust you.”

Close your eyes.”

I smile, and I do what he says.

Open your mouth.”

I do, becoming anxious of what is about to happen. I hear the fridge open, and Carson steps back to me.

No peeking.”

I jump at the sound and feel of the canned whipped cream that fills my mouth. Just when I’m about to close my mouth to swallow it down, Carson grabs my face and uses his tongue to scoop out some of the cream. He then kisses me and the sweet cream overflows from our mouths.

Man, you’re so fucking hot.” He has whipped cream on the corners of his mouth.

You’re just saying that because I told you were the best lay I ever had.” I wink at him. I jump at the sound of someone clearing their throat behind us and there stands Elliott, staring at us.

Sorry to interrupt. I knocked, and the door was unlocked.”

I quickly wipe my mouth and so does Carson.

What do you need?” Carson’s voice was stern.

I need you to sign off on these permits, and then we’ll be all done.” Elliott holds up a few papers.

Sure.” Carson grabs his pen and signs them.

I catch Elliott looking at me, and I turn away from him. I hope he didn’t hear what I said, even though it’s not a lie. I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feeling.

Thanks, Mr. Lee.” They shake hands.

No problem, and I passed your name on to a few friends. They should be calling you soon.”

Elliott nods and cuts me a look, but doesn’t say anything when he leaves. I jump off the counter and stir the food again.

You okay, sweetheart?”

I nod, smiling up at him.

Do you need help with anything?” he changes the subject.

Grab some plates. This is all done.”

I push Elliott out of my mind and put the food into bowls, setting them on the kitchen table. I grab the sweet tea and fill the glasses.

This a nice spread, sweetheart.” Carson smiles and piles his plate.

We both eat and talk about the campaign mostly and the season coming up. Carson feels like this is their year. I don’t tell him about what my boss said today because I still need to figure that out on my own.

When we finish dinner, Carson helps me clean up. But then his phone rings, so he heads into the other room and I put everything away. As I wipe down the counter and stove, I immediately stop and back away. My heart races a little bit. The thought hits me before I even really comprehended it.

I’m standing in an eight million dollar house with hockey’s bad-boy, cooking dinner and having a good time.

Can I do this all the time?

I grab the counter. What the hell am I thinking?

I’ve done it. I’ve finally lost my mind. I figured the stress would make me go crazy and it’s happened. Soon I’ll be doodling Carson’s name all over the place.

Yep, I’m a crazy person.

Carson comes back into the room, and he stares at me.

Are you sure you’re okay?” he rubs his hand up and down my arms.

Yes, I’m fine. I’m finishing up here.” I step away and toss the towel in the sink.

You didn’t have to do that. You could have left it.”

I think I’m going crazy.” I rub the temples of my head.

What do you mean?” Carson wraps his arms around my waist. “You think you’re going crazy because you cleaned up?”

No, not that.” My thoughts are like a tornado in my head. I can’t take the pressure. “We haven’t even been on a date, and here I am cooking dinner, cleaning up, asking how your day’s been. The next thing I know, I’ll be in an apron with a beehive hairdo, serving you a martini when you walk through the door after work,” I blurt out to him all at once.

Okay. First, I don’t drink martinis. Second, you cooked because of a bet. I hope you know that, believe it or not, I don’t want a ‘housewife’. And just because you did it once, doesn’t mean you’ll turn into one. Although, you with a beehive hairdo might be entertaining.”

Carson Lee,” I sigh deeply “I’m sorry, I think seeing Elliott just freaked me out.”

Sorry. I didn’t think he was coming until tomorrow.” He lays his forehead on mine.

It’s okay. I’ve had a long day, and I think I need some dessert.” I smile at my comment.

Carson raises his head and gives me the smirk that turns me on the most. “Well, sweetheart, you’ve come to the right man.”

Chapter Twenty-Eight

Carson

As I lead Kinley to my room, she glances over at me with slow grin. “I think it’s time I show you one of my secrets,” she slyly tells me.

I’m more than ready.”

She giggles as we step into my room, but it falls short. “Woah,” she breathes, openly looking around. I follow her gaze to see if I can tell what’s mesmerized her. All I see is my California King poster bed with the matching dark mahogany nightstands, dresser, and the other room pieces. The room overall is kind of somber from the wood furnishing and dark red paint. My pillows and comforter are so fluffy that we’re going to sink into them when we lay down. Kinley’s about to let go of my hand to explore, but I pull her so she turns and stands in front of me.

Leaning down with my lips above hers, I ask, “Where do you think you’re going, sweetheart? Aren’t you supposed to share a secret with me?”

Her mouth forms into a deceivingly innocent “oh.” That slow grin reappears as she tugs me over to the bed, lifting my shirt up and over my head, tossing it aside before she goes to unbuckle my belt. Her fingers work quickly, but she doesn’t bother sliding the belt out of the loops. She goes straight to the button and zipper, hooking her fingers under the waistband and pushing them down until I’m standing naked in front of her.

I peel the clothes off of Kinley quickly, kissing her every chance I get. I can’t be this close to her with so little clothes and
not
have my mouth on her. We move to lay on the bed, but she rolls me onto my back and sits on my lap with a grin.

Don’t get ahead of yourself, Carson Lee.” Kinley drags her fingers down my chest, lightly brushing over the bare skin. I swallow hard when she repositions herself, her mouth hovering just above my dick. Those fingers wrap around it, stroking me twice before descending on me.

Holy.

Fuck.

She works me up and down hard and fast. Blow jobs aren’t something I usually get because of my size. There seems to be an unspoken expectation that they think I want them to deep throat me at some point, so they end up avoiding it altogether, wanting me to simply fuck them instead. Kinley obviously doesn’t have a problem with anything blow job-related. Her tongue, sucking, lips, and hand is shoving me towards the brink, threatening to make me fall over way too soon.

My head has fallen back, too immersed to gain enough sense to watch her. I reach my hand out to absentmindedly play with her hair, not wanting to disturb the already fucking amazing thing she’s doing to me. But then, she goes all the way down, my tip hitting the back of her throat, and she barely pauses.

Damn it, Kinley,” I breathe, half wanting to stop her so I can fuck her, half not daring to interrupt her until she’s finished.

She pulls back, only her tongue swirling around my tip. Her teeth graze the ultra-sensitive skin before she deep throats me again, sucking as hard as she can. I come fast and end up squirting into her mouth. She doesn’t stop either. Only slows down until I’ve drifted back down to earth.

When I do, I lift my head to see her smiling at me and I ask, “How many secrets did you say you had?” Kinley laughs and comes to lay next to me. I hold up one finger. “Give me a second.”

Carson Lee needs time to recover?” she teases.

From that? Yes, but only a second.” I move to hover over her with my arms holding me up on either side of her. My eyes slowly drag their way over her body. God, I love her body so much. My gaze finally makes it back to her face. Kinley reaches up, grabs the back of my neck, and pulls me down to meet her lips. I break the kiss before I get distracted from what I want to do. “The best you’ve ever had, huh?” I mumble as I kiss her chest, moving towards one of her breasts. Sliding a hand between her thighs, I run my fingers over her folds.

Don’t ruin it,” she replies lightheartedly.
