James Dean. James Dean
.

It didn’t help that Kelly was kind of boring. He was pleasant enough, but there was something superficial about him. Even when he asked Doug questions about himself, it seemed he was going through the motions, following a script rather than genuinely giving a crap about getting to know him.

Doug ordered himself to be open minded. So what if the guy didn’t make his breath catch in his throat the way Stewart did? Not everyone he met was going to give him that instant, punched in the gut feeling. Not every guy was going to make his pulse speed up simply by looking into his eyes. Maybe Kelly was a great kisser. Maybe Doug would feel something once they started touching and fooling around.

There was always the chance Kelly wouldn’t invite Doug up to his room. But Doug doubted it. Kelly’s lingering gaze grew more lascivious as the night wore on, focusing on his lips while he spoke, drifting over Doug’s chest and arms, sizing him up.

The check came, and after Kelly paid, he looked at Doug. “You want to come upstairs for a nightcap? We can raid the minibar.”

The martini had numbed him out somewhat, so Doug nodded before he could change his mind. “Sure.”

When they got in the elevator, Kelly leaned against the back wall, whistling. Doug tried again not to think about his starched white shirt, and whether he stunk after being in it all day. Stewart always smelled so good, so fresh.

Stop
.

While he doubted very much that he could use this Kelly guy to fuck Stewart out of his system, he was going to give it the old college try.

When they reached the room, Kelly slid his keycard in and opened the door. It was an okay room, with a king sized bed and sofa, a table and chairs in the corner. Kelly went to the minibar and opened it up. “What do you want to drink? We’ve got a bit of everything in here.”

“I guess I should stick with vodka,” Doug said.

Kelly pulled two nips out, then retrieved glasses from the bathroom and filled them up. “I guess I should have stopped at the ice machine,” he said as he handed Doug his drink.

“That’s okay,” Doug said. “We can rough it.”

Kelly’s gaze heated. “Sounds good.” He set his drink down and unbuttoned the top buttons on his shirt. “Sit, relax,” he said, nodding toward the bed.

Doug walked over and sat on the bed, leaning against the pillows. He took a sip of vodka, then set it down on the bedside table.

Kelly continued unbuttoning his shirt as he walked around the bed, then took it off and set it on a chair. Now in his suit paints and white tee shirt, he sat down and shimmied over next to Doug, leaning in. He pressed his nose against Doug’s neck. His hand slid down Doug’s chest, over his stomach, then lower.

Doug flinched when Kelly began boldly rubbing his cock over his pants.
Well, this was quick.
When his fingers moved lower and grabbed a handful of sac, Doug’s eyes widened.

Looking up, Kelly continued to caress him. “This okay?”

Doug raised his hands, trying to adjust to the instant intimacy. “Uh, yeah. It’s... okay.” Attempting to slow things down a bit, he cupped Kelly’s chin and leaned in toward his lips.

Kelly jerked his head back. “Uh, I don’t kiss.”

Doug paused halfway to Kelly’s mouth, frowning as he looked into his squinty eyes. “Oh.” He eased back. “You don’t...okay.”

If Kelly sensed Doug’s hesitation, it didn’t show, as he was suddenly sliding down the bed, tugging at Doug’s zipper. “Whoa...” Doug’s eyebrows rose as Kelly pulled his pants and boxers down to his hips, fumbling for his cock, which was only half hard.

“I’ve wanted to do this since I first saw you today,” Kelly said, and went down on him.

Doug gasped as he was sucked like a hoover into Kelly’s mouth. “Whoa...okay...um...”

He peered down at this strange man, still fully clothed, gobbling his cock. He flinched, his head falling back on the pillow. Kelly sucked him like his life depended on it, it was almost painful. But eventually his erection swelled to full size, and Kelly deep throated him, pulled back, and did it again, over and over.
Guy must be able to breathe through his feet.

Closing his eyes, he allowed the sensations to overrule his mental protests. It was a bit late to start over thinking things, after all.
Just lie back and enjoy the blowjob
.

Kelly was tenacious, but it still took some mental coaxing to relax. But eventually Doug was able to get into it. His cock had fewer reservations than he did about who was doing the sucking, and after a good five minutes of Kelly’s enthusiastic ministrations, he felt the tingling of orgasm threatening.

“Whoa, easy,” he said, gripping Kelly’s head as he felt his climax hovering at the door. He didn’t want to be impolite and come in his mouth, but the guy was going at him like a champ, stroking his balls while he continued to swallow and suck.

“Kelly,” he huffed. “I’m gonna...”

Kelly’s head lifted a split second before Doug shot his load. Rising up, he gripped Doug’s cock and jerked him, watching the spout of semen with those narrow eyes. “There you go!” he said with a chipper lilt to his voice, like a store clerk handing over change after a purchase.

As soon as Doug finished coming, Kelly climbed up the bed on his knees, then unzipped his pants, taking out his cock, a long, narrow thing. He shoved it right in Doug’s face, the head pointing at him like an eyeball. “Now do me.”

Well, isn’t this romantic
. Doug hesitated.

“Come on,” Kelly urged, thrusting it at him, nearly poking him in the eye.

Doug knew at once there was no way he was taking that thing in his mouth; he didn’t even particularly want to
look
at it. So he reached up and stroked it instead, squeezing, hoping to get him off quickly.

“No,” Kelly huffed. “Use your mouth.”

“I’m not using my mouth,” Doug said.

Kelly shoved it at him again. “That’s not fair. I did you. I can’t get off unless you use your mouth.”

Doug shuffled back, but still worked Kelly’s eager prong. It was the last thing he felt like doing, but fair was fair, and the sooner he finished the job, the sooner he could leave. “I’ll get you off, don’t worry,” Doug said. “Do you have any lube?”

“I don’t want lube,” Kelly said through clenched teeth. His tone was rife with impatience, the first hint of emotion Doug had heard from him. “Just put it in your mouth. I
told
you I can’t get off otherwise.”

“Look, Kelly—”

“Just suck it for Christ sakes!”

Irritation took over, and Doug rose up. He grabbed Kelly’s shoulders and slammed him onto his back, straddling his legs. “You’ll get off how I tell to get you off, or not at all.” He gripped Kelly’s erection, squeezing. “Okay?”

Kelly squeaked, his eyes widening. “Oh...”

Using every bit of knowledge he’d earned with lovers and with his own masturbatory experiences, Doug stroked him vigorously. He wanted to get this over with, so he put his back into it, gliding his palm up and down, squeezing the head, using his thumb to apply pressure along the shaft.

Kelly’s jaw fell slack as he let out a hard breath, his eyelids fluttering. “Oh shit,” he said. “Oh shit, okay...” His eyes rolled back and he began to pant. “Doug,” he whispered. “Oh, God. Harder.”

Doug pumped Kelly hard and fast, focusing on the other man’s pleasure so he could be done with it and go home and shower. It wasn’t his usual motivation for bringing someone to climax, but it was motivation enough, and he worked Kelly with vigor, squeezing, stroking, jerking with all his might.

But the bastard still wouldn’t come. Losing patience, Doug released his cock and tugged Kelly’s suit pants off. He climbed between his thighs and fisted his cock again, this time pressing a knuckle against his asshole, working it in and out. “Come on,” he whispered. “Come on. Let go.”

Kelly let out a high pitched, girly scream, and seed shot out of him in spurts, coating his stomach, splashing onto his white tee shirt. Doug milked him until he was dry, then released him, immediately climbing off the bed, shaking off his sticky hand, trying not to wince.

Kelly lay panting as Doug zipped up his own pants, checking his pocket to make sure his keys hadn’t fallen out. He found his keys, then looked down at Kelly, wondering if he should stay a while just to be polite. He decided he couldn’t bear it, and headed for the door.

“Wait!” Kelly called out.

Doug turned back. “Thanks for dinner, Kelly. It was fun. But I have to go.”

Kelly sat up, his face flushed, eyes heavily lidded. “You...that was amazing.”

“Thanks,” Doug said wearily. “Uh, you too.”

Kelly climbed out of bed, his thin, soft cock bouncing. “Can I see you again?”

Doug chuckled under his breath and headed for the door. “Sure,” he said. “I’ll call you.”
When hell freezes over.

Doug left the hotel room and leaned against the door, closing his eyes. He felt disgusting. So this was dating. This was moving on. It had to get better, he assured himself. It had to get better than this.

Letting out a long breath, he headed for the elevator, and home.

Chapter Fourteen

Doug was relieved when he awoke and remembered it was Saturday, and he didn’t have to work. Not only because his back was a bit sore and stiff. He was pleased he didn’t have to see his boss, for fear he’d ask about his dinner with Kelly. He’d told Rick he was taking Kelly out, and Rick thought it was a great idea. Schmoozing the customer, he’d called it. Yeah, he’d schmoozed him all right. He shuddered with a flashback of Kelly’s cock-head nearly poking him in the eye.

He skipped his run to give his back a break. Although he’d showered before bed, he took another for good measure, then sat down in the alcove room to meditate. It was going well until halfway through when he heard Stewart’s van start up, then pull out of the driveway, probably on his way to a job. In an instant the peaceful serenity was broken by a flurry of invading thoughts that refused to be pushed aside, so he gave up and blew out the candles.

He’d woken up to find a voicemail message from Stewart, asking how he was feeling. Doug had responded by text, keeping it brief, saying he was fine, and thanks for asking. He wanted to say so much more, wanted to call Stewart back and hear his voice, but he resisted, trying to stay strong. Stewart seemed to get the point, and didn’t respond or call again, which left Doug both relieved and disappointed.

His meditation ruined, he put on some music and made breakfast. Checking his phone again, he saw that he had two text messages, one from Corey, and surprisingly, one from Jairo. Doug had texted Corey earlier when he did Stewart. He’d tried to show humility, telling Corey how sorry he was for the things he’d said, stressing that he hadn’t meant a word of it, that it was the painkillers.

Staring at the phone display, he hit Corey’s response. Then shook his head when he read it.

Whatever, Doug
.’

So much for smoothing things over. He tried to care, but couldn’t summon the energy. He read Jairo’s text next.

‘Hey, young Crandall, sorry I had to cancel last week. Heading down to Bernie’s tonight to see my friend’s band with some of my buds, would love if you joined. Peas out.’

Doug grinned. Jairo certainly seemed in better spirits. A part of him was reluctant to go out and socialize after his so called date last night. Holing up in his apartment with a pint of ice cream was tempting. Especially since Jairo wanted to go to Bernie’s. Bernie’s Pub would no doubt reek of Stewart memories. But ultimately he decided to be a brave little soldier and sally forth. He couldn’t let one bad experience send him scurrying back into his cave, so he texted Jairo back and said he’d be there. Jairo’s response came immediately.

Yippee! Don’t bring your neighbors. Gag
.’

Doug drank some coffee and putted around for a while. Trying to coax himself into getting excited about going out later, he perused his closet, unenthusiastic about anything he found in there. He supposed he could go shopping for new clothes. It had been a while, and it wouldn’t kill him to make an effort. He was, after all, trying to start dating again. And he’d like very much to attract someone better than Kelly
I don’t kiss
Ingham.

He spent the afternoon clothes shopping, buying several new pairs of jeans and a couple nice shirts that showed off his body but still made him look stylish and classy. At least he thought so, liking what he saw in the dressing room mirror. He tended not to spend much time in front of the mirror, but trying on the clothes forced him to take a good look. He was surprised by how trim his waist was, and the firm cut of his muscles. The workout regime he’d developed to keep his head on straight the past year had reaped positive results. Go figure—total life destruction looked good on him.

He allowed himself to think about Stewart while he drove home, pondering the way Stewart looked at him and complimented him so often. How desperate he’d seemed that night, kissing Doug up against the door, passionate and insistent.

“Don’t you want me anymore?”

Whatever was going on in his relationship with Corey, Doug believed Stewart’s desire for him was genuine. Shit, the guy had been willing to make out—perhaps even do more than make out—even though his boyfriend was right upstairs. Stewart’s sudden change in attitude, his willingness to forgo the rules he’d made with Corey, it was still confusing. But it also filled Doug with a self-confidence he’d not had in a very, very long time, not since Harry threw him over for that litigious little skank.

And it brought back those nagging, naughty little thoughts he’d had about what might happen should Stewart and Corey split up. If they just so happened to...not that Doug would do anything to encourage it. He’d pledged not to mess around with Stewart again, and he meant to stick to it. But it wasn’t all about ethics and selfless sacrifice regarding Stewart’s relationship status. He was terrified to put himself out there with Stewart, especially after hearing those protestations of love through the radiator the other night. Doug didn’t want to get hurt again, and Stewart had red flags sticking out all over him.
