Jaxon looked at the pathetic attempt at a shopping trip. It was early in the afternoon, El was yet to get going. Once she was fired up, our legs would be tired and our arms would be laden with a lot of bags.

Okay, I'll go up to the counter and order. Three pies and coffees?”

Yes thanks.”

I wanted to say that it should be two pies and coffees because it was supposed to be mother and daughter but I didn't. El wouldn't care and Jaxon was still a little annoyed about Seb being here.

You know, when you said that you wanted to spend the afternoon with your mother I thought it would be at home.”

And you saw him and thought that I had lied to you?”

Yeah.” he sighed “Is that wrong?”

I shrugged. I suppose it was possible, though I wasn't going to berate him about feeling jealous. It meant that he cared enough to ensure that no one else encroached on his turf.

Yes and no. He's not a threat so you need to dial down the anger. Then you need to think a little realistically. Would I really cast you away after wanting you for so long?”

How long?”

The bastard grinned.

Too long.”

What did you buy?” he whispered as he hugged me.

Stuff. I'll show you later.”

Wearing them?”

I leaned back out of the hug, his deep blue eyes were wide with anticipation. I had a deep hunger that had been awakened and couldn't be satisfied. But the problem was, I had a sinking feeling that last night was a one off and that until the bruises faded there wasn't going to be any more. Well, two can play at this game.

Only if you take them off me and give me everything that I want.”

His fingers gently brushed my hair off my shoulder, exposing my neck. I wanted to crumble, to beg and whimper as he drew into the crook and kissed it softly. Slowly he nipped his way up my neck, not in any rush, not even a care for El who might be returning to the table or the other customers.

I clutched at his shirt, feeling the desperation fly through me. His proximity was closer than before, like he was moving closer to me to fuel my desire for him.

Soft lips pressed onto my jaw, etching a delicate need on my skin. Warm breath caressed the skin of my ear, his hand grasped my jaw, just under my other ear. I had to bite my lip to suppress the whimper as his lips dragged over my ear.

I wouldn't have it any other way.” he whispered.

Chapter Nineteen

Jaxon's
'wouldn't have it any other way'
hadn't eventuated. It wasn't as if I could blame him, he was doing stuff for the band. With the songs for the new album being written and recorded, the whole band was in lock down. Even Jerry was there, El seemed a little annoyed but went about her life as if nothing was different. It was always the same, every time they recorded an album they all disappeared into the depths of the recording studio and life on the outside was forgotten.

The only times we got to see them was if we went to the clubhouse and they happened to venture out. They would take a break if the children were around, but that was only if they had been locked away for a long stretch of time. Today was one of those days, fed up wives and complaining children. I could understand why they would be a little annoyed, children don't understand why their fathers aren't around like they usually are. And the wives would wade the waters of uncertainty. Unable to give an answer as to when they will return and for how long, unable to give an answer to the questions of visiting them at the clubhouse. All the while thinking that with an album comes the inevitable tour.

But this time was going to be different. They were in the studio trying to get it done fast, knowing that Evan was going to be rather occupied with becoming a movie star. It meant maybe a year or more of hiatus for the band, maybe the occasional performance to keep the buzz going. After what Frankie said about something brewing I knew that there would be some kind of connection. I just didn't know what though.

I managed to crack the code for the lock down, finding that spying on my father as he entered the code was the easiest way to get to the kitchen. It didn't matter how many times I had complained that the set up was ridiculous, if you weren't a part of the band or the recording crew then you didn't get in. But my silent footsteps and watching from the shadows had paid off, now I had a code to get to the kitchen.

My days for being at home and resting were still rather large, in fact I should be there now. Except that El had lunch planned with friends and I didn't want to go so she said that I had to be here. The chance for a black out was unlikely in my opinion but she still fretted. I hadn't had the forethought to pack lunch and the media out the front of the building was still a little horrendous so I chose to raid the kitchen.

As soon as I walked into the kitchen, I remembered that day. The day where Jaxon had managed to sneak a woman into the clubhouse and she was eating my red vines. My mouth twitched with derision but all of my issues melted away when I opened the cupboard where I hid my vines. It was filled with dozens of packets, I looked to the full jar on the bench and I smiled. He was just that sweet.

Kaylee.”

I turned to the shocked voice, his eyes were wide and his mouth was a little slack. It had been a week and I was beyond frustrated. Give me a taste of love and then disappear for a week. So maybe I might have worn clothes that might incite certain feelings. They were still work clothes but they were ones that I wore when I wanted him to look at me.

The skirt was too short, barely making it over the edge of my stockings and the top was floaty and soft. If I happened to lean over, it revealed too much.

Hey.” I said right before munching on a vine.

How come you're here?”

Hungry.”

Jaxon grinned as he drew closer, softly padding his bare feet across the wood floor.

No smarty pants, how come you're at the clubhouse?”

El is having lunch with friends.”

He wrapped his arms around my waist, pressing me into the bench.

Did you miss me? I missed you.”

Of course. The bed is very cold without you.”

Not too much to do.”

His eyes watched as I took another bite.

Then we can take a little break for a while.”

I knew what that meant. Little break was defined as a day, maybe two tops.

How did the shopping go?”

Great.” I groaned, rolling my eyes.

Every single day that he's been in lock down, El's kept me occupied by going shopping. I had replaced the offending bikini, bought other necessary beachwear even though there was no plans for a holiday on the horizon. She'd insisted on pretty clothes and accessories, adding to the already burdensome wardrobe.

El was a lot like Jaxon in that respect. Both of them had a generous nature and a good heart, they would want to give you things just to make you happy.

Jaxon grinned, his devious nature shining brightly.

I missed you.”

You said that.”

I know.”

His voice was filled with heat, the soft purr caused all sorts of naughty thoughts to flood through my mind. One hand slid down my hip, pulling my leg around his waist. The other soon joined it and as he pressed me harder against the bench I could feel how much he missed me.

Lose the vine Kaylee.”

I tossed it to the bench on the side of us, wrapping my arms around his neck. His fingers danced under my skirt, toying with the garter straps.

I have a surprise for you.”

Is it that you're coming home tonight?”

He shrugged one shoulder as he grinned, his mind seemingly elsewhere. His hands were firmly planted on my backside, underneath the layer of lace.

Maybe it's a do-over birthday present.”

I don't want another car thanks.”

It's not a car.”

The sound of someone walking up the stairs from the studio made him set my feet back to the ground, tugging my skirt back over my hips. Jaxon took one hand and placed his lips upon the knuckles, his deep blue eyes staring at me.

Later.” he whispered and then casually strolled out of the room.

I wanted to sag to the ground and wait for the euphoria to dissipate. How he could ooze such carnality with just a few gestures and a seductive tone I'll never know.

Are you okay?”

Jerry stood at the doorway, looking rather concerned.

Yeah, all good.”

Okay well, your mother is here.”

I wasn't aware of it but she had actually booked me in to have a waxing done. She suggested that rather than just the legs, I went a little north of the border. The woman nodded and ushered me away to the tiny room where she unleashed hair ripping hell upon me. I waddled out of the shop rather awkwardly.

Why?” I groaned as I carefully placed myself onto the passenger seat.

Why not darling? Don't over think life, just take each day as it comes and love every single minute that you have.”

And that was the end of that, she kept her interest on the road and effectively ignored the subject.

There was a strange mood in the air when we returned home, I couldn't figure it out. Frankie was right, something was going on and I'd lay money on the fact that El knows what it is.

Two hours of trying to figure it out, I was still no better off. I had walked circles around the house, through my bedroom and not found a single clue. It was going to drive me crazy. That was until something dawned on me. I rushed to the walk in robe and stood there with a little disbelief. Most of the clothes I had bought over the past week weren't here. Then the confusion started to whisper odd thoughts to me.

Sure El and I had been busy but she was never one to let washing pile up. So we've got missing clothes, waxed in places that were beyond intimate, odd phone conversations and talk of peculiar happenings. Dubious didn't cover what I thought about this situation.

Setting out to find El with the thought of extracting information out of her, I was shocked to see Jaxon standing in my room.

Hi.” he said quietly.

Err, hey.”

Present time.”

He held out his hand and waited. Anxiety flared in me as I took his hand. It wasn't until we reached the bottom of the stairs and saw Jerry and El standing there that I began to realise I was utterly clueless.

They stood by the doors in the entry, my suitcase at their feet. After hugs, kisses and telling us to have a good time, we were on our way to the airport.

Where are we going?”

Jaxon smirked with his secret squirrel smile, one that I loathed to see. It meant that I was not getting an answer no matter how much I tried.

Do I need my passport?”

He said nothing which either meant that they had found it on their own, somehow managing to crack my safe or we weren't going overseas. I huffed, folding my arms and looking out the window. This was frustrating.

Adding to my frustration was the waste of money that was using the jet. It was just the two of us and the flight crew and I might have mentioned how ridiculous it was a few too many times. I was told to stop complaining.

I didn't know where we were going, I could never figure out where we were just by looking at the land. It wasn't until I saw the blue that glistened in the afternoon light that I knew where we were going.

Excitement filled me and I turned from the view to Jaxon who was smiling.

Better birthday present?”

Absolutely.” I gushed, pulling him to plant lots of kisses on him.

Minutes melted into hours as I lazed on the chair, in his arms, wandered the length of the jet and stared out the window. We even managed to get a light dinner in before landing.

The flight had made me weary but being back in Maui was too exciting. I pushed the doors open to the balcony to look out on the ocean as Jaxon dealt with the luggage. Salt air permeated my lungs as I dragged in a deep breath. The night was incredible, a soft wind pushed past the trees. They rocked back and forth with a lazy movement, moonlight grazed over the land.

Turning back to the room, I watched as Jaxon closed the door behind the bellhop, leaving just the two of us in the room. He stood at one end of the lounge room, me at the other end. There was a great void between us, slowly he edged his way around the lounge.

What did you want to do first?”

I bit my bottom lip with a grin, Jaxon's response was removing his shirt, tossing it at me and walking into the bedroom. With a chuckle I tossed it onto the lounge and followed him, finding him at the windows as he pulled the curtains closed.

As he walked over he twirled his hand, wordlessly telling me to turn around. I could hear him flicking his shoes and socks off, the heavy boots hitting the carpet with a soft thud.

I like this shirt.”

His breath was warm against the nape of my neck, one soft kiss placed on my spine. A shiver furled through me as his fingers dragged over the silk of my shirt, his fingers reaching the hem to lift it off me.

Slowly his fingers dragged back down my body, this time on my skin. He ignored the bra and kept going lower, stopping at my skirt.

But this I like more.”

Pushed over my hips, it fell to the ground with little effort and pooled at my feet. Jaxon rounded me, taking my hand to help me step out of the skirt. I teetered in a pair of pumps that I'd been wearing all day, I couldn't wait to get out of them.

Jaxon's eyes dragged over me, his desperation was restrained. He walked around me again, stopping at my back to undo the eyelets of my bra. With his body close to mine, he tossed the bra to the floor in front of me. Fingers skated over the skin, slowly moving higher as his lips softly suckled on the crook of my neck.

They moved lower, hooking under the edge of my underpants. As he lowered to his haunches, they slid down my legs. His fingers slid up my legs to the straps of my garter, undoing the clips. He moved with painfully slow movements, ensuring that each and every second was savored. Harmony's words rung through my mind
love her like there is no tomorrow.
My accident hadn't been a close call, it didn't even come close but I knew that Jaxon didn't see it that way. I guess he could see what life would be like if he didn't brave the unknown.

Now I was divested of the garter belt, my arms wrapped around his neck as he lifted me onto his body. Our kiss was slow but perfect, soft and delicate skin sliding over the other, tongues darting and caressing.

He laid me onto the bed and stood, lifting one leg with him. The shoe was tossed to the ground with little care, the stocking rolled down my leg. Once the other one was done, he knelt in front of the bed. Gripping behind the knees he pulled me forward. Even before he planted one little kiss, he took my hands and laced his fingers into mine.

I gasped with the first lick, my body arching off the bed. There was no way that I'd last anything longer than a minute at most. Tightening his grip on my hands, he continued his oral assault. Lash after lash, his tongue swirled in tight and large circles, sliding up and down the seam. Lips massaged the flesh, sucking and gently tugging.
