Sala was dozing when they arrived at her room. Mary and
Gina were not there.

“Nurse, do you know where my friends are?”

“I believe they are in the cafeteria having lunch.” the
heavy-set nurse replied. She raised an eyebrow and looked Levi over good. Lena
thought the nurse was making a point of her visual dress-down.

“What was that look all about?” Levi glanced over his
shoulder as they headed for the dining hall.

“Who knows!” Lena smirked. “Maybe it’s been awhile
since she saw a real man.”

Levi laughed. “Do you think I’m a real man and not just
a geeky nerd?”

“I don’t think it’s a functional possibility to have
‘geek’ and ‘nerd’ in the same equation.”

“Oh, are you questioning my method? And why did you
quit teaching?”

“Oh I couldn’t handle the high school kids. I was
pathetic at crowd control. And there were such big classes in the district
where I worked.”

“Did you consider a community college? They’re all over
the place now and as you pointed out to me, they are in dire need of good math
teachers.”

“Yeah, I did consider it but my Mom needed help with
the RV Park and I just never got around to applying. And now it’s just my
little sis and me running the place.”

Levi didn’t ask more questions as they had reached the
cafeteria. Lena figured he didn’t want to bring up her mother again.

After chatting with Gina and Mary she and Levi headed
for the parking lot.

“It doesn’t sound like Sala will be out of the hospital
for another couple days.” Lena waited for Levi to unlock the doors.

“No, it kind of ruins your vacation.” Levi started the
engine in his truck.

“Well, I’m going to take it easy and see how the next
few days go. I’m not packing up and heading home just yet. Besides, there is
still fishing to be done.”

“You’re kidding me. You’re still going to try and fish
with that shoulder?”

“What do you mean – try to fish? I won’t have any
trouble.”

“I’m so confused.” Levi turned his truck left onto the highway.

“Levi, I can fly fish with my teeth if I have to.” Lena
laughed. “Besides, I’m a southpaw. I cast left!”

Levi smiled at Lena and shook his head. “You are one of
the most amazing women I have ever met. And to show my admiration I’m going to
buy you a big bag of ice for your shoulder because if you’re going to fish,
leftie or no, you’re gonna’ need ice.”

“That’s by far the most romantic gesture I think I’ve
ever known.” Lena laughed.

The next day the sun came out in the late morning and
by noon she and Levi had set up their camp chairs and coolers on a wide sandbar
near a quiet eddy in the river.

“Ah, this is the life.” Levi raised a beer to Lena and
took a huge bite out of his sandwich.

“You spent twenty minutes back at camp assembling that
sandwich and now you’re going to demolish it in three bites.” Lena adjusted the
ice pack on her shoulder.

“Mmm, best sandwich ever.” Levi’s mouth bulged.

“You are quite sexy.” Lena leaned her head back and dropped
her sunglasses back down on her nose.

“You look mighty fine yourself. Or is that just the
Lortab talking?” Levi continued to munch his lunch.

“No, I took Ibuprofen this morning. I can’t stand the
way that stuff makes me feel. All discombobulated.”

“I can’t imagine what you’re talking about.” Levi winked
at her.

“I can’t imagine that you took advantage of an injured
woman last night.”

“What? You jumped me.” Levi acted incensed but gave her
a crooked smile and continued eating.

“That was sort of the way it went down.” Lena laughed.

“Oh, it went down alright. Whew man.” Levi got up from
his camp chair, strolled to the water, bent down and washed his hands. He wiped
them on a bright blue bandana that he kept in his pocket. Then he strolled over
to where Lena was seated in her camp chair and knelt down beside her. Pascal
whined and put his head back down between his paws where he lay beside Levi’s
chair.

“How about we have a reprise later on?” He bent over
and kissed a breast through the light tank top she wore. Lena put her hand over
his head and sighed.

“You keep that up and later on will become now.” Lena
arched her back as he lifted the top up and put his lips right on her exposed nipple.

“That’s what I was counting on.” He whispered. His
tongue circled her areola then he began to suck on the nipple ever so slightly.
Lena burrowed her fingers into his hair and gave him a tug of encouragement. He
loosened his belt and stood up as he pulled himself out and stepped over her.

“Oh, that’s a gorgeous size.” Lena fondled his erection
and kissed his shaft in random, light kisses until she reached the tip which
was wet with his excitement. In the full light of day he was impressive - fully
erect. The short, black hairs on his groin were trimmed back and his erection
stood dark red and quivered when she touched the head with her fingertips. Blue
veins bulged out under the translucent skin.

Levi moaned as she placed her lips around the thick
head and played her tongue around the flange. She took him in her mouth and
sucked hard which made his knees shake. Then she made a tight hold against the
base and worked her hand back and forth in short pulls. His balls were tight
against her hand.

“Oh girl, you make me feel wild. Let’s go back to the
camper.” Levi’s breath was ragged and his voice hoarse with desire.

“It’s too far – there’s a little nook over there.” Lena
pointed behind her towards the edge of the forest. “I think someone used it as
a campsite.”

She returned her attention to the thick head of his
erection and kissed it again. She tasted the delicate skin underneath her
tongue. She felt aroused as her clit tightened against the seam of her jean shorts.
“I love how soft the skin right there is – it’s a singular texture.”

“And I have a singular sensation that I want to get
between your legs. Are you serious about doing it here? What is someone sees
us?”

“No one will see us in there. Besides, this is my
secret place on the river. I’ve never seen anyone here. I haven’t even brought
my friends here.”

Levi grabbed her good elbow as she stood and caught her
foot on the camp chair. “Hey, you’re still a little wobbly. I don’t think it’s
wise to do this right now. You’re not exactly a hundred percent and I feel
weird about it.”

“You mean it’s a turn-off humping a woman with a
shoulder sling?” Lena hung onto him to steady herself. She nuzzled his ear lobe
in play.

“No, that’s not what I meant at all. And it’s not
humping
;
it’s called
making love
. Can’t you tell that I am way-turned on?” Levi
grabbed his erection and pushed it into her hand. He moved up and down against
her; an intense look on his face. “I really want it. And I love being with you.
I don’t want to do this though if it might hurt you.”

“You won’t hurt me. I will keep my shoulder out of the
activities, okay?” Lena grasped her hand all the way around his engorged cock
and squeezed with her fist. His breath did a sharp intake and he pulled her
closer. She kissed him long and hard, rubbing him with her hand while her tongue
sought his in a deep kiss. Then she stepped back, took his hand and led him to
a small clearing in the woods.

Levi reached for a wool blanket as he passed; draped
over the back of the camp chair. He put a muscled arm around her waist, but
then his hand dropped to her butt and he let it stay there as he followed her
into a small oval, surrounded by a thick stand of hemlock and cedar. She
stopped when they entered the tiny space big enough for a tent and a fire pit.
Lena pointed to the remains of a fire to the left – a circle of smooth, round stones,
each blackened from smoke. A level space had been cleared of brush and rocks to
the right. Now a thick carpet of needles covered the spot where a tent had once
been.

Levi stepped to the right and unfolded the blanket with
one flip onto the forest floor. He surveyed the space. “This is kind of cool.
Like a Hobbit hole or something.”

“I like it; I think it’s very cozy.” Lena sidled up
next to him and put her arms around his waist. “And it’s insulated.” She
pointed to the thick cover of thimbleberry and dogwood grown up like a natural
blind around the campsite.

Levi pulled off his shoes and jeans and sat down on the
blanket. In one movement he pulled off his T-shirt over his head. “Now I am a
true son of nature. Au natural.” He grinned. “But it’s a little chilly.”

“I’ll keep you warm.” Lena lay down on top of him and
he wrapped his arms around her. They fell laughing sideways onto the blanket,
their legs entwined.

“Ouch!” Lena cried out.

“Now see, that’s what I was trying to avoid!” Levi said
when Lena grimaced holding her shoulder.

“I’m fine, it was nothing.” Lena said and rubbed the
shoulder. She took his chin in her hand and kissed him lying on her left side,
on his right. The sun filtered down through the hemlocks above making a small
light show in their hair and faces.

“Look, little fairies are dancing in your hair.” Lena
ruffled his dark curls.

Levi smiled and locked eyes with her. His expression
became serious. “Lena, I really like you a lot. I’ve never met any other woman who’s
so easy to be with.”

Lena continued to play with his hair. “You mean you’ve
never met any woman so easy.”

She bent over him and kissed his mouth. She played with
his tongue and sucked at his lips before he disengaged.

Levi shook his head: “That’s not what I said. I never
expected to meet anyone like you when I drove out here. I don’t want it to end.
Is there any way we can make this more than just a vacation fling?”

Lena lifted up on her elbow and looked at him. “What
are you saying?”

Levi rolled over onto his back and studied her with his
arms behind his head. He was silent for several moments. “I don’t know. Maybe
we could find a way to keep in touch. Especially if I get this job in Olympia…”
He let his sentence trail off, as if uncertain.

“Olympia’s quite a drive from where we are, Levi. I
don’t know. Right now I’m a live-in-the-moment kind of girl. I don’t want to
think ahead any further than this vacation. And then after that I have the
family business to run.” She looked at him. His face had lost all its humor.
“I’m sorry, Levi. I’m on an emotional merry-go-round right now. I don’t know
what I want.” Lena paused and said: “I really like you too.”

Levi started playing with a piece of grass, no longer
making eye contact. “You’ve had a lot to deal with; I understand.”

Lena felt liked she’d stepped onto sand going downhill
and her foothold had given way. She hurried to add: “Let’s see where we are
next week. I mean, if you plan to stick around that long. I’m still trying to
deal with the accident yesterday. I’m not quite myself.”

“No, no it’s my fault. I shouldn’t have brought it up –
I’m the prince of poor timing. Just forget it. You’re so right. I’ll chill the
hell out.”

Lena gave him a weak smile. “Thanks for understanding,
Levi.” She put her hand up on his cheek, smoothing his black eyebrow back with
her thumb. “All I know is you are one hot dude and I’d like to get back to what
we were doing. I mean, unless our discussion was too much of a weenie-wilter.”

Levi looked shocked. Then he started to hoot with big
bursts of laughter. He stopped abruptly, looked at Lena and then started
laughing again; holding his sides. “You are… too much! Where did you come up
with that phrase?”

Lena raised an eyebrow. “I don’t know, but there’s
plenty more where that came from. Want to hear a few?”

“No! No, that’s sufficient - it’s tattooed onto my
brain.” Levi was smiling again which Lena was relieved to see.

“You’re cute when you laugh.” Lena rubbed her one free hand
across his bare chest. She let her hand linger above his navel which was
circled by fine, curly hair. She felt him pull her closer as he lay on his
back. She straddled his hips and began to caress his chest which felt firm and
tense under her left palm.

She felt him rise underneath her – a hard shaft under
the seam of her shorts. She leaned into it, and pressed down as she bent over
him and put her head on his shoulder, breathing in his smell, which was a mix
of something like cloves and damp earth. The sensation of their two parts
touching, yet not quite touching, sent an electric volt of desire through Lena.
She could feel him pressed against her all the way to her butt. Her heart
picked up as she slowly rocked back and forth on him while kneading the muscles
on his chest.

“Oh girl; I’m not sure what you’re playing at but I
like it.” Levi groaned as she pushed down, straddling him. Sparks of sensation
hit her on all points of contact. “Take those off, right now.” He lifted up on
one elbow, and fumbled with the button on her jean shorts. “It’s not fair that
I’m the one in a compromised position.”
