“I love you, baby,” he whispers against my lips. I pull him on top of me and we end up lying there kissing for a long moment.

Hours pass and we haven’t left the bed. We bask in the afterglow of our lovemaking. Grant’s cell keeps going off and he doesn’t make any attempt to get up. After the fifteenth time it goes off I get up.

“Where are you going?” he questions as he pulls me back on top of him.

“I am going to shut your phone off and maybe change you voicemail so it says, leave me the fuck alone.” I smile as I say the last part and Grant starts laughing. A great big belly laugh that makes him bend over slightly in the bed.

“I’ll go get it so you can do that,” he says after he calms a bit. I watch him walk out of the room wearing nothing. I get disappointed when he turns a corner and I lose sight of that tight ass. I roll over and look up at the ceiling. They have to be at least twenty feet high. I watch the palm frond fan turn. The fan itself has to be twelve feet in diameter. My eyes wander out the open doors and to the ocean. We need to get out there, I think to myself, and with that thought, I am out of the bed and heading into the living room to get my luggage so I can get a suit on. I see Grant on his phone and his tone is hushed. I roll my eyes at him, even though he doesn’t see it. I grab my luggage and roll it into the room. I begin to unpack some stuff. I find one of my suits and put it on. I decided to go with a very small one that barely covers anything. At home I would never wear anything like it because it isn’t really who I am, but while I am on vacation with Grant I don’t care. I walk out of the room and back through the villa and this time I catch Grant’s eye. I smile at him and do a turn while I walk towards him. I hear him try to end the conversation to catch me, but it’s too important for him to end so soon. I blow him a kiss over my shoulder and watch as he catches it. I untie my top and leave it by the couch and continue my journey outside. By the time I make it onto the patio I feel his arms circle around me. His hands slip up my stomach and each rests against my breasts. I lean back onto him and take the phone that rests between his ear and shoulder and hang it up and turn it off.

“Oops, bad reception,” I say as I toss it on one of the loungers. I turn and look at him.

“I think you are wearing too much clothing,” he whispers as he pulls my bottoms down. I smile at his virility. The man is insatiable at times, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I let him take the lead as he brings the back of my legs against the lounger. He doesn’t let me fall, no, he takes one of his strong hands and places it at the center of my back, leading me down gently. I catch his mouth with mine and let him know I don’t want it gentle this time around. He treats me like I’m glass sometimes; like I break easily. He should know by now I won’t break. I have been dealt a real shitty hand, and I have yet to break. I look up into his eyes as I take his bottom lip between my teeth and bite down. I see his blue eyes get brighter and his erection get harder. My back meets the lounger with Grant’s weight pressed against me. He eases some of the weight onto his elbows and I wrap my legs around his hips, digging my heels into his tight ass to bring his hardness into perfect alignment with my heat. He starts to rock in a perfect rhythm which causes my eyes to close. Our mouths are still open and our lips are a whisper apart. We stay like this as we rock into each other. I could stay like this forever. I can’t tell where he ends and I begin. We are one while we make love and the connection we have makes it all that more beautiful. Sex with Grant is never the same. Every time is different. Pieces of my heart find their way back and I start to feel more complete. He’s what I want and what I need. I’m letting him heal me. I have been having trouble with that part, but being here, with him alone, I am throwing caution to the wind and letting him love me in every way possible. His lips leave mine and start to leave a trail of soft kisses around my face and neck. He makes his way up to my temple and rests there. I can feel him panting.

“I think if we do it again you won’t be able to walk,” he laughs lightly.

“I won’t mind, plus walking is overrated,” I tease as I give him a little squeeze.

“You drive me nuts,” he says. In one swift move, he rolls over so I’m on top and he is sprawled out beneath me. I rest my hands on his chest and look into those blue oasis eyes. I can’t help the smile that spreads across my face. He pulls my arms and I collapse into his chest. We lie there for a while, with him inside of me. I fall asleep with his rhythmic fingers lingering up and down my spine.

THE SUN IS STARTING TO
set and I wake up to Grant curled behind me. I look around and see we are still lying bare of clothing. The breeze passes over my skin, leaving me feeling refreshed. The temperature is perfect. I turn to see Grant with the look of contentment on his face. I run my finger down the side of his face, then trace his perfect lips. He kisses my fingertip and I lean in to steal a real kiss.

“I need to feed you,” he says, in a raspy, sexy voice. I sit up and he pulls me back down, rolling me with him to get on top.

“This is not eating,” I say, playfully slapping him.

“I get to eat first,” he states as he lowers himself onto my body. I squirm as he tickles me. He holds me firmly down once he reaches my core. I open up wider, out of natural instinct, and lie back to let Grant feast on me. Within a minute, my hands are in his hair gripping him tighter. I don’t know if I want to pull him off of me or push him closer. I end up pulling him closer and finish off with a scream that could be heard around the world. Or at least around the resort. I hear him laugh as he kisses his way back up my body.

“That is why this place is so secluded,” he mumbles against my ribcage.

“Huh?” I say as I catch my breath.

“You’re loud, baby, and I want the guests to be able to come here and not have to worry about a single sound,” he murmurs as he makes his way up between my breasts. He rests his chin between them. I’m still gazing up at the clouds that are passing overhead, but I can feel his stare. I can always feel when he is around or looking at me. I look down and he smiles at me.

“Let’s go get you something to eat babe.” He gets up in one jump and takes me with him. In one motion I am over his shoulder and he gives my bottom a swift slap. I reciprocate, giving him a nice slap on the bottom as well.

“You’re going to pay for that one,” he says slapping mine again, this time giving me a good sting.

I slap back as he starts to run through the house to the bedroom. I know I got him good because my hand is stinging like crazy. He strides into the bathroom and brings us right into the shower, turning it on and blasting me with cold water. I would normally fight it but it feels good after being outside in the warm air all afternoon. I laugh at him and he seems disappointed that I’m not freaking out like he thought I would be.

“You’re so weird,” He comments as he sets me down.

“Why? Because I don’t always react the way you think I will?” I ask.

“Exactly,” he answers adjusting all the shower heads. I roll my eyes and we shower like this is an everyday event. I let my mind dwell on this thought and I think I could get used to it. In fact, I know I can.

Half an hour later, we are both dressed simply, ready to leave our villa to venture out to eat dinner at one of the many restaurants that are available. Grant takes my hand when we are walking out of the front door and guides me around to the passenger side of the golf cart. He kisses my temple after I get in then walks around and get in the driver’s side. Staring at him I notice something is off and I can’t help but ask.

“What’s going on up there?” I say gently while tapping his temple.

“I have to turn my cell back on,” he replies.

“OK. That’s not a big deal, Grant.” I distract myself by enjoying the spectacular view of the grounds as he drives us to dinner. I can tell it has to be more than just having his cell back on, but I don’t ask. When he is ready to talk, he will tell me. I can’t make Grant do anything he isn’t ready to do. Grant drives around as if he has been here for years, and judging by the size of this resort I would be correct. After a while we pull up to a small secluded oceanfront restaurant. There is a parking attendant waiting to take the cart away. I think it’s kind of funny that they have a parking attendant for a golf cart. Grant takes my hand as I take in my surroundings. Everything is so beautiful here. I follow him into the restaurant. He pulls me in front of him and nuzzles his nose into my neck.

“You need to do the talking. I’m going to hide out in your neck,” he whispers. He gives me a gentle love bite that makes me giggle. I look up and see a beautiful, exotic woman walking our way. She smiles at me.

“Mr. and Mrs. Winterfield, please follow me.” She turns and starts to walk. I look back at Grant with a “how did she know that?” look. He simply returns my look with a smile. I guess it’s her job. I follow along and see that even our dining experience will be a private affair. I can’t see anyone else in the restaurant because it is filled with passages, making it a very intimate dining experience. I can’t help but think about Aiden. This entire trip feels so fancy. Aiden is more laid back. I always felt comfortable and at peace when I was at his place. He isn’t flashy like Grant. I’m a single mom that isn’t used to all these perks. I sigh, shaking my head when I start to ponder how I got here. This isn’t me. I miss the normality and tranquility I had with Aiden. I miss him. Our hostess leaves us once we get to our table. Within seconds Mateo appears and he looks a bit scared.

“Mr. Grace, I apologize for the disruption, but your brother asked that I give you this message immediately.” Is it Aiden? Is he all right? He looks down after he hands Grant the envelope. I watch Grant open it but I can’t read him. He looks up at Mateo. It appears Grant was right, Mateo did know who he was.

“Thank you. If he calls again please let him know I will take care of matters myself.” Grant gives him a nod of dismissal and Mateo is out of sight as fast as he appeared. I lean back in my seat and study Grant. His eyes have lost the content look he had and he is currently rubbing the back of his neck. A nervous habit that he seems to do when he is in deep thought or worrying about something. I wait for him to talk. I want to ask him if it was Aiden calling, but I don’t. It feels like an eternity has passed when food it brought out. I didn’t order a thing, but it seems you don’t have to here. Every few minutes more food seems to be brought out to the table. This is ridiculous. It’s only the two of us. Grant is still silent and not eating. He has been pushing the food around and seems to be in deep concentration.

“Hey,” I say softly. Grant doesn’t hear me and this concerns me. I lean over the table and place my hand on his forearm. This makes him look up.

“I can’t sit and talk to myself you know,” I tease with a smile.

“Sorry,” is his only reply and he goes back to staring blankly at his food. I begin to eat because what else is there to do? I taste the flavors of the island and much to my surprise I fall in love with them. When I know I have reached my food capacity I place my fork down and look at Grant again. I speak before I think.

“You’re really starting to scare me,” I say, loud enough so I get his attention.

He just looks up at me. No smile and his blue eyes have stormed over.

“Are you OK?” I get up and walk around the table. He pushes his chair out and I settle sideways on his lap. I take his face in my hands and he shakes his head no. I want to fix whatever is going on because I don’t like seeing him like this. I don’t think he looked this bad when I was in the Cape and we had to bring his mom to the hospital.

“Talk to me,” I say as I wrap my arms around his neck and hug him. His hands come to my waist and he pulls me in tight. I can feel pain radiating off of him. He still doesn’t speak. I wait for a few minutes and he pulls back. He picks up the envelope and hands it to me. I suddenly feel nervous at what I’m about to read. It has to be bad if it has Grant this shaken up. I pull the piece of paper out and read.

G,

Grazzer came back for Mom. He wants retribution.

S

I glance up at Grant with a puzzled look on my face because I have no idea what this means.

“Grant,” I say softly. He stares out at the water as he begins to speak.

“Grazzer is the man my mom hired. He heard that my father’s body was found and now he is blackmailing my mom. She doesn’t have the kind of money he wants.” His jaw appears tight and he looks down.

“But you do,” I finish for him. He nods at my statement.
