“Well, I’m not sure if I believe you yet Sara but I’m willing to give you the benefit of the doubt for now. I just: threatened the owner of the website that published the photos originally, and I got the name of the person who sent them into him.
Well, more specifically, the name of the company.”

“Fuck. Every time I think I’m getting closer to figure out who did this, or something else in the way. Of course they registered a company, just to make sure that there was one additional layer of privacy between them and me.”

“Don’t worry, companies aren’t exactly private here.”

Jonathan grabbed his phone again,
holding up the finger to let me know to wait one second as he called his lawyer and asked the lawyer to check the registration for the company name that was given to Jonathan.

“We should get an answer in a few minutes. It’s not hard to check and see who owns a company, unless they were very, very careful about it.”

Sure enough, a few minutes later Jonathan’s phone rang again. Jonathan picked it up, scribbled something on a piece of paper, then thanked his lawyer and hung up. He looked at me.

“I’ve completely confirmed your story Sara” he told me, looking into my eyes. “I think
, more than anything right now I owe you an apology. I should have trusted you, I should have been a better boyfriend, I should’ve known better than to think you would do something like that to me.”

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Had Jonathan really forgiven me? Did he really believe me?

“I’m so sorry. If you don’t want to be with me anymore Sara, I completely understand. I treated you so unfairly, even though I love you. I love you so much, when I saw those photos it was like I’d been stabbed in the chest.”

“Stop there Jonathan. I know exactly what you mean. I went through the exact same emotions not long ago. I’m so glad you believe me,” I added, daring to wrap my arms around him. It felt so good to touch his skin again, to feel his muscular arms wrap themselves around me as he buried his face in my neck, both of us clutching onto the other as though for dear life. I never wanted to let go. I’d come so close to losing Jonathan forever, so close to never being able to feel his skin, smell his musk, kiss his soft lips that now that I knew I had him back I wanted him forever. I wanted to hang on to this moment forever.

Eventually, however, we did pull away. Jonathan went back to his scrap of paper.

“The owner of the company that I got, who also happens to be the owner of this cell phone number, is Miranda.”

“Your assistant?”

“That’s the one,” Jonathan replied, nodding. I found I was actually surprised, even though in reality Miranda was probably the first person I should have suspected. After all, she had never stopped sending me dirty looks when she thought Jonathan was looking, although I had always suspected that she was only the type to passively aggressively glare at me, but that she never would have done anything like this.

“What are you going to do?” I asked.

“Well, to start with I’m going to go into this interview and act like nothing is wrong. Then,
when we get out of here and going to fire her, but not before I know where her laptop is. I don’t want her to be able to delete anything if she did it on her work computer, which still technically belongs to me.”

“Good. I never liked her, although I did never suspect you would do anything like this.”

“I’m so sorry Sara. I’m so sorry for not believing you about anything. I should’ve taken your fears more seriously when you thought something was wrong months ago.”

“Don’t feel too bad about it. I know that I must’ve sounded like a crazy person to anyone else, I know that it made no sense.”

“Maybe, but I was still your boyfriend. I was still the person he’s supposed to believe every crazy thing you say.”

Jonathan leaned in and kissed me softly on the lips. I closed my eyes, enjoying the sensation once more. It had been too long, and yet it felt like an eternity. I wanted Jonathan to kiss me forever. The interview felt like it lasted forever. But sure enough, three hours later Miranda had been fired. Going through the computer, we found the original photos that Miranda had taken, having hired somebody to act as me, the mystery man, and then taken the photos herself. She used in image manipulation program to make them look out of focus and blurry, but still just enough like me to trick everybody.

With this new proof, Jonathan called up the gossip website and ordered them to publish a redaction. I could tell from the tone of the call that the magazine editor wasn’t happy, but a thrilled Jonathan came out announced that they had acquiesced eventually.

Over the next couple of weeks, we got more and more details as to what Miranda had been doing. It was her fault that the article in the other music magazine had been so scathing as well, as she called up the editor pretending to be me as well and accusing her of being unprofessional on the day of the shoot. When she found out what had happened, the editor apologized profusely, printing a full redaction of the interview in their next issue, and promising to make it up to the band. None of the band members were really enthusiastic about doing another shoot with the same magazine, but I eventually convinced them that it was best if we were on the good side of one of the most important people in the music journalism industry.

True to her word, the next article that came out about the band couldn’t have been more amazing. Things were now moving at such a quick pace, I had to hire another two people. There was now less than a month to go until the band went on tour, and everything was becoming so hectic that Jonathan and I were finding that we had very little time to ourselves anymore.

Chapter
Nineteen

Then one night, two weeks before the tour was supposed to start, Jonathan surprised me with a weekend away.

“I was thinking we should get out of here. Not for long obviously, just for the weekend, but I think we need a break for just the two of us.”

“That sounds amazing Jonathan” I replied, “where were you thinking of going?”

“That’s a surprise for now” Jonathan told me. “But I figure it will start with the band’s first-ever dress rehearsal. I was thinking the other day, you’ve never really heard us sing live, have you?”

“No, I haven’t really. I’ve heard you in the recording studio of course, but you haven’t done a single concert since I started working for the band.”

“Well, now you’re going to get a private concert. Tomorrow night, come with us to dress rehearsal and then afterwards will head off to our secret rendezvous.”

For the next 24 hours, I couldn’t think about anything except the weekend.
I was practically giddy with excitement. We’re really going to go? Honestly, that part didn’t really matter to me. All that mattered to me was that for a whole weekend, for two whole days, I was going to have Jonathan Knight all to myself. It didn’t feel like I’d had an opportunity like this in months. Since we got back together everything had been so hectic that sure, we’d sometimes get to spend the night together, but that was about it. Our days were 100% work, and often spent apart.

The next day, as fall began to set in and the sun set earlier, I went with the band to the Stadium where they were doing their dress rehearsal. It was their first dress rehearsal for the tour, although they’d spent a lot of the time the past few weeks practicing bits and pieces of it.

I stayed backstage for a while, watching in awe as hundreds of people came together to make this work. I didn’t realize just how many people were involved in making a stage production of this size until that very moment. All through my youth whenever I go to concerts I’d completely taken for granted the fact that there were this many people working behind the scenes to make it all look amazing. Finally, ten minutes before the band was scheduled to take the stage, I left the backstage area and went to the floor, sitting down on the ground only feet away from the stage that I knew in a few minutes would explode with music.

It was strange, being in the stadium. I called out once and my voice echoed across the Stadium. Tens of thousands of people would be in the Stadium in a few weeks, all waiting for Jonathan Knight to come out and sing his songs, just like I was doing tonight. And yet now, I was completely alone, about to get a private concert.

Out of the middle of nowhere, the music suddenly started. The band went from 0 to 100 in no time at all. Before I knew what was going on, fireworks and lights flashing everywhere filled my eyes. The noise from the guitar, the drums, and everything else filled my ears. I looked at the stage in awe as Eric and Jared started to play, but there was no sign of Jonathan.

Then, the stage filled with smoke. A giant capsule began to pop out from the ground, like a giant cocoon, and when the walls of it fell to the ground Jonathan was there. Microphone in his hand, he brought it to his mouth and began to sing.

For the next two hours, I was completely and totally enthralled. I knew Jonathan could sing, but it was still nothing like seeing him in concert, seeing the passion with which he sang the lyrics which he had so carefully penned. His voice was his instrument, every note perfect. He could use his voice like no one else that I’ve ever known. With just the slightest inflection he could completely change the tone of a song, bring the audience up or down, bring me up or down.

I don’t think I took my eyes off him for a single second during the set. He was so incredibly talented, his voice so incredibly powerful
that I didn’t want this to end. I’d been to a lot of concerts before as a kid, but this was different. Jonathan was different. It was more than just his voice carrying the lyrics across the Stadium. It was his soul. He poured his heart and soul into this performance, and when the band finally finished I stood up clapping as hard as I could. It sounded so quiet compared to what had just been on stage, and yet I knew as Jonathan looked at me, sweat dripping from him with exertion, he realized just how much I loved the performance.

I immediately went backstage afterwards and told Jonathan exactly what I thought.

“You were amazing. Absolutely incredible, I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t want it to end.”

“Well, if it didn’t and we would get to go on our
get away this weekend,” Jonathan grinned.

“I know, but you were just so good.”

“Thank you Sara, it means a lot to hear that from you.”

An hour later, when Jonathan had changed completely, we were driven to the airport.

“Where are we going?” I asked again, knowing that I still wasn’t going to get a response. Sure enough, as a reply, Jonathan just grinned and said “You’ll see.”

Luckily, late-night on a Friday isn’t exactly prime time for airplanes, so there were only one or two paparazzi waiting around to see if any celebrities were going anywhere. We quickly grabbed her tickets, where I found out our destination: Cancun, Mexico.

“I’ve always wanted to go to Mexico” I gasped, realizing that we were going to go to a foreign country.

“It’s really beautiful, you’ll love it” Jonathan replied. We sped through security, finally safe from the
paparazzi’s lenses. Jonathan took me to the business lounge, where we had a celebratory drink together in the plush leather seats before our flight was finally called.

Three hours later, we landed in Puerto Vallarta, where Jonathan already had a driver waiting to take us to our resort.
When I saw the place Jonathan had booked us into, I gasped. We were right on the water, with a private cabin that was more luxurious than most houses I’d been in.

The living room was enormous, the entire place decorated in a tropical style, complete with all the latest electronics. The bedroom was amazing, with an enormous King bed,
fourposter style with lovely mesh draping down over the sides. The bedroom opened on to our own private little part of the beach, where we could follow a trail into the water.

“This is incredible” I gasped as I looked around.
This was luxurious unlike any I’d ever seen before, even if Jonathan’s regular place. I was used to cheap hotels with mold in the shower, and if I was lucky, a vaguely comfortable bed that looks like the sheets had been washed sometime in the last month. This was a whole new level of luxury, the type of luxury that I thought only existed in movies.

“I’m glad you like it” Jonathan told me. The sun had set now, so we couldn’t see the water, but it didn’t matter.
I could hear the waves of the ocean pounding softly against the sand as Jonathan’s hands found my body. They slipped themselves around my hips as if it were the most natural thing in the world as his mouth found mine.

A soft, warm breeze c
rept in through the open window, sweeping my hair back as Jonathan kissed me, his tongue slipping slowly inside my mouth. I moaned with pleasure as his hands roamed around my body, around the curvature of my ass, up my back, towards my neck. His fingers settled on the strap of the halter top I wore, then with one quick, sudden movement slid it off me and to the ground. I was completely topless, the bra in the top built in. My nipples hardened as the night air hit them, but just as quickly I felt Jonathan’s mouth move down to one of them, his tongue tweaking the nub, driving me wild with pleasure.

The smallest of moans escaped my lips as I grabbed Jonathan’s hair, throwing my head back to enjoy the sensations I was feeling. His hands moved down to my skirt, sliding it over my hips then down my legs ever so slowly before dropping to the ground. I stepped out of the flip flops I was wearing and found myself completely naked.
