Chapter Three

Shane closed and locked the door behind them. He lifted her effortlessly and placed her on the green felt surface of the pool table. The dimness in the room was illuminated by a lone street light that shone in through the uncovered windows. Shane wrapped his arms around her, followed her down and dove in for a kiss he'd waited for these past two years.

She kissed him back with lush lips, soft and warm. His cock thickened by the second. By the time he tasted lemon and scotch on that inviting mouth, he had to hold himself back from ripping that sexy dress from her. Her scent, a combination of roses and warm woman, twirled around his cock and squeezed. His tongue dove into her mouth and she responded in kind. Eager hands found their way to her generous ass, and his palms pushed her into his raging hard on.

"You feel like sin and kiss like heaven, you know that?"

Her small hands palmed his face. “I do now,” she managed and Shane silenced her with another kiss that seared him to the bone.

Trained hands found her ample breasts, and he teased and palmed them through her sexy lace dress. His cock ached as it rubbed against his zipper, and grew harder still when he pulled her dress over her head to expose those rounded globes, covered by black silk. He swallowed hard, and his eyes took their fill of the vision she made.

"I've waited a long time for this moment, Ava, a long time to see you again,” he breathed.

She pushed her chest forward and lifted her full breasts to him in offering. He nuzzled first one then the other. The faint scent of talc filled his nostrils. Her small gasps and moans of pleasure drove him to satisfy her.

"I'm going to devour you, Ava. If you're going to stop me, do it now, because I'm ready to fuck you to tomorrow and back."

She shook her head. “No, don't stop."

He tunneled his fingers through her wealth of dark waves. “That's good, because I've got two years of cock to give you. Tell me you want it."

She could only nod in agreement. After that, talk was reduced to a minimum.

He lifted her and they sat face to face where he allowed himself to look at her and revel in her beauty. She was really here with him wrapped in his arms. Maybe his luck was finally changing for the first time in two years.

He watched her face flush, her eyes half closed. He lifted his Tee shirt over his head and threw it on the floor. Her eyes widened as she spied the other tattoo on his chest.

"Do you like it?"

She nodded. “It's the Phoenix, rising from the ashes,” she breathed.

"The phoenix isn't the only thing that's rising right now."

Her flawless skin was revealed as he pulled off her bra. He watched her eyes go dark and half-lidded while he ripped off those silk thongs.

"How wet are you for me, Ava?"

"Touch me and you'll see."

He followed his eager fingers past her stomach to her navel. Shane parted her nether lips with his thumbs, then lowered his head and slipped his tongue into her wet pussy lips. He relished her groans of pleasure as he dove in for a taste of her. Drenched in her own juices, his mouth watered for more.

He sucked her clit until it swelled and darkened. The taste of her drove him wild with lust, but his cock had other ideas. He had to be inside her. Now. “Tell me how you want it, darling."

Her voice was a deep throated growl. “I want it hard, Shane. I can't wait another second."

"I can't wait either,” he dug into the pocket of his jeans, and pulled out a condom. He pushed off his jeans and shoes, then handed her the foil packet. “Slide it on me,” he commanded.

She ripped it open with her teeth, gave him a smile that undid him. She rubbed her finger over the crown of his swollen cock, gathered a drop of moisture and licked it from her digit before sliding the condom over his aching length. Little witch. He'd teach her not to tease. Later. Right now he burned like a house on fire.

He growled and dove into her hot, wet heat, and began to push with ferocious strokes. She lifted her hips to give him deeper access to her sweet pussy walls, while her full breasts bounced with each pump of his hips.

Her arms slid from his neck and down. Her nails raked the warm, smooth expanse of his back. He pushed further into her slippery warmth. “Take all of me, Ava. Touch me, scratch me, push me further."

Her orgasm loomed just a breath away. She was close and he was even closer. But he held himself back with herculean effort to wait for her.

"Come for me, beautiful Ava, go over for me. Let go."

She stilled, waves of pleasure flooding her. Her pussy throbbed, tightened and fisted around his cock, milking him into ecstasy. “Ah, Shane, yes,"

That husky voice broke the dam of Shane's control. He held his breath, arched his back and poured himself into her.

Sated, smiling and satisfied, Shane gathered her in his arms. As he'd guessed, Ava was the best sex he'd ever had.

Chapter Four

Had she passed out? How long had they been lying on the pool table?

Ava cringed to think what A.J. would do if he found her lying naked on their brand new pool table. Yet, she couldn't get up the courage to be worried. She stifled a tiny laugh behind her hand and took a deep breath.

Turning her head to the handsome man beside her, Ava wondered. A few hours ago she had never realized what a powerful interlude was in store with a virtual stranger. That it could even be the experience of a lifetime.

She was naked, lying on a pool table next to the sexiest man she'd ever met.

Shane Sullivan. Even his name was sexy and charming.
I've been well fucked by Shane Sullivan
. He was young, handsome and charming, and had a body chiseled by the gods.

Okay, maybe a little overkill on the praise
.
Then again,
maybe not.

Nevertheless, Ava felt sexy, gorgeous, young and thin. And Shane Sullivan was the cause.

Ava leaned into him, took a moment to stare at those unbelievably long, dark eyelashes, and touched the slight stubble that shadowed his face. “Thank you."

His eyes fluttered, then opened, presenting her with eyes the color of an August sky and a crooked smile that told her what he was thinking.

"You're welcome."

Did she dare touch him and make him hot and aching to fuck her again?

The answer was obvious. Ava boldly slid her fingers down his stomach, to the penis that lay in a nest of curly black hair. And to her delight his thickness came alive in her hand.

"Unless you intend to finish what you just started, I'd say now is a good time to stop."

She shook her hair over her shoulder and smiled at him. “And what if I don't want to stop?"

He groaned and pulled her under him. “I'd like to take you again right here and now."

Her heart pounded in anticipation of another round of sex with him. “What are you waiting for? I think we're past asking permission to touch, don't you?"

He groaned. “Although I'm tempted, I'm not that much of a bastard. You must be uncomfortable and tired."

She nodded. Truth be told, her back ached from the hard, scratchy felt surface of the new pool table. Well, not so new anymore. “I also have a busy day ahead of me. Orders to pick up, and distributors to get to. Sorry.” Boy was she sorry. He'd probably just pat her on the head and say, that's okay, we had a great one night stand, but I have to go, too.

He lifted her to a sitting position and tunneled his magic fingers through her hair.

"Okay, I'll pick you up tonight, and we'll go to my place."

Did he just say he wanted to see her again?

"Say yes, Ava.” His index finger lifted her chin and he leaned forward. “Say it.” His voice lowered as if it were a command.

She nodded then whispered. “Yes."

He seemed pleased. “Good. I'll come back early and help you close the bar."

"You'd really do that?"

He took her by the shoulders. “Don't you understand, Ava? I like you. I want you like I've never wanted anyone. Let me ask you something. Do you like to play?"

She didn't pretend to misunderstand. He easily lifted her from the table and helped her dress. Oh God, he wasn't talking about pool.

"Play? As in toys?” She knew where this conversation was going. He was a young, virile man and she had a decision to make.

"I have to admit, Shane, that I've never indulged."

He didn't make fun of her, didn't laugh, just leaned in and kissed her nose. “There's a first time for everything.” He slid his thumb down her throat, stopping just short of her cleavage. “I'll make it good for you, I promise."

He must have seen her hesitate, because he wrapped his arms around her, and whispered in her ear even though there was no one around to hear. “I promise not to hurt you, ever. We'll have a safe word if you like, and if you feel the least bit uncomfortable, you say the word, and I stop. Fair?"

Ava tingled from warm lips gently nipping her ear. Maybe she was crazy, but she wanted to shed her inhibitions. Maybe it was time she took a chance.

"Sure, after I lock up tonight, I'll come home with you."

"That's my girl. See you tonight.” He kissed her hard and quick, and squeezed her ass. “And just for the record, I never came like that in my whole life.” He took a deep breath and drew a hand through his thick hair, and stared at her for several long seconds. “Fuck but you are one hell of a woman."

He left her standing there in the empty room. She finished dressing hurriedly before A.J. saw her and had a stroke. She took one last glance at the pool table, smiled and ran up the stairs to her temporary apartment. So fast she thought she might fly.

Happy birthday to me.

Chapter Five

"Who's the guy scoping you out, sis?” A.J. poured a draft and drinks ready to serve later that night.

Ava lifted two clean glasses from the drying rack and placed them on the bar surface. She wiped her hands with a small towel and smiled at Shane, who saluted her with a beer bottle and a wink. “Shane Sullivan."

He frowned. “Is that supposed to be significant in some way?"

Ava turned and frowned.
Here comes the furrowed brow brotherly inquisition
. “I'm seeing him. And before you give me the ‘isn't he too young for you’ sermon, I'd like to remind you that I'm a big girl now,
Dad
. Whether or not you realize it I don't need your approval to, for lack of a better word, ‘date'.

Ava loved her little brother, but her days of being bossed around by him were at an end.

A.J. huffed out a laugh. “You're kidding, right? Ava, you're forty and—"

"Don't you dare say it,” she snapped. She threw the towel at him, turned and walked away, her good mood ruined by his insinuation.

But she didn't escape him for long. He followed her into the kitchen, obviously packing plenty of ammunition. “Look, Ava honey. I know you're lonely, but are you going to pick up every guy who hits on you?"

That's it.
Ava pulled him deeper into the kitchen, and grabbed him by the shirt, sidestepping Elena, who observed the apparent tension in the room and fled.

"I know how old I am, thank you. My brain hasn't completely turned to mush yet. You need to mind your own business, A.J."

He shook his head. “Damn it, he wears an earring, and did you see those tattoos?"

"I'm not blind, and what do his tattoos have to do with anything? You have ink, too."

"We're not talking about me.” He threw out his arms. “There's no talking to you, is there?"

Hands on her hips, Ava took a deep breath. “You're not talking, you're judging,” she snapped. “Read my lips. This discussion is over. Can't you just be happy for me for once in your life?"

"I'm sorry, sis.” He came forward and wrapped his arms around her. Ava squeezed her eyes shut, hugged him back and slowly pulled away from him.

"Look, you saw how Richard treated me toward the end of our marriage. I know you worry about me, but please, try to understand. I need this.” She shook her head, and waited for his answer.

His lips formed that lopsided smile she loved so much. Even when he acted like a pain in the ass, and that was a frequent occurrence, she still adored her baby brother. Though sometimes, he needed a smack in the head.

"I don't trust him, Ava, but I do trust you. Promise me you'll be careful."

She touched his cheek with her palm. “Well, since you're being generous, will you close up so I can go out with him tonight?"

"Ava, sweetheart—"

"A.J., please? If you don't want to close up, I'll ask Elena."

He threw the towel down on the counter. “Go ahead, but remember I warned you."

"Do I tell you who to date?"

His lips curved in a devilish smile. “No, and you never will."

"I guess that's why you never ask Elena out. I see how she stares at you. It's obvious she's got a thing for you. She's gorgeous, smart and she loves looking at your ass."

A.J. frowned. “Don't tell me what to do. I'm not a kid anymore."

She saw a flash of realization in his eyes, pleased that she got her point across to her very stubborn sibling. “Touche, dear brother."

She took a deep breath, planted a smile on her face and walked from the kitchen only to find Shane waiting for her.

Tonight a denim button down shirt hugged his muscled shoulders and flat stomach and worn jeans caressed his legs. His combed back hair revealed his handsome face. Sapphire eyes, dark with lust, settled on her. Her body readied itself for him. Her nipples throbbed and her pussy swelled.

He wants me. Will wonders ever cease?

He stood when she approached him. “Ready to go?"

"More than ready.” She smiled and clutched his outstretched hand. “Willing and able, too."

"Good.” They were no sooner out the door of the bar, when he pulled her into an empty doorway and pressed her against a wall. “I've been waiting all day for this.” His kiss took her breath.

He pushed against her and Ava shivered when she felt the brick hard length of his cock. She was wet and her breasts tender and tingling as he palmed them through her Tee shirt. She drew her hands through his hair, taking his kisses, and lifted one leg to wrap around his own long muscled limbs.
